Cooler Climates

Once upon a time A llama and a bear were hanging out. They were hot, so they went searching for a place where it’s colder.

They got on the trail and walked for about 5 hours. They came to a very cool place and stopped. They bed down in the grass and slept peacefully. But in the morning, it was very hot! They looked at each other and said, “Oh wow, it’s hot. Let’s go find a cooler climate.”

So they got on the trail and walked for about 10 days. All of a sudden, a snow storm started. They looked at each other and said, “This sure feels like a cooler climate!”. So they burrowed into the snow and made a little snow cave. They slept peacefully while the snowstorm blew on. But in the morning, all the snow had melted and it was hot! They looked at each other and said, “Oh wow, it’s hot. Let’s go find a cooler climate.”

This time they walked on the trail for many days until they came to a body of water. They got in a canoe and paddled for many more days… 20 days in the canoe! They came to an island in the middle of the water. It was a beautiful island and the weather was cooler. They asked themselves, “Is this the cooler climate we’ve been looking for?” They made themselves a little shelter from pine boughs and leaves. They slept very peacefully. In the morning, it was not hot. It was cooler than the day before! They looked at each other and said with relief, “I think we’ve found a cooler climate.”
